Jackson 2000 will be hosting its next discussion luncheon on ***MARCH 14, 2012*** at the Mississippi Arts Center, from 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Members and non-members are encouraged to attend and bring guests.
Topic: An East Indian Perspective on Living in Mississippi
This Wednesday our speaker will be Dr. Satman Lal Sethi. Dr. Sethi is a native of India, receiving his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science from Panjab University. He emigrated to the United States in the 1960’s and received his Ph.D. in Entomology from Oregon State University in 1968.
He has worked for the Environmental Protection Agency, was a Professor and the Director of Environmental Health at MS Valley State and has started or acquired several businesses during his years in Mississippi. He will speak to us about his experiences living in the United States and specifically in Mississippi.
Members and non-members are encouraged to attend and bring guests. The cost will be $12 per person ($10 for current, paid members), payable on site by cash or check the day of the program, and includes lunch catered by Broad Street Bakery.
(The Mississippi Arts Center is the former Mississippi Museum of Art at Lamar and Pascagoula, next to the Planetarium. We meet on the second floor, which is elevator-accessible.)
