50th Anniversary of the March Against Fear

Cynthia Goodloe-Palmer, Executive Director of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement, and panelists will discuss upcoming plans for the 50thAnniversary of the “March Against Fear”, Saturday, June 25, 2016. This happens to be the day exactly 50 years ago when the marchers arrived at Tougaloo College in 1966 to rest, relax, take showers and eat after leaving Canton, MS, which proved to be a violent event.

Join us for a lively discussion, and feel free to bring new people to the meeting!

Time: 11:45 AM to 1 PM
Date: Wednesday, June 8, 2016
Location: Mississippi Arts Center; 201 E. Pascagoula St., Jackson, MS

Members and non-members are encouraged to attend and bring guests. The cost is $12 per person ($10 for current members), payable on site by cash, credit card or check the day of the program, and includes lunch catered by Broad Street Bakery.

The Mississippi Arts Center is the former Mississippi Museum of Art at Lamar and Pascagoula, next to the Planetarium. We meet on the second floor, which is elevator-accessible. Call 601-960-1500 for more information on the Center.
