The mission of Jackson 2000 is to significantly enhance trust and relations between the races by defining and pursuing common goals that improve the social, political, and economic climate of Metro Jackson.

Some may ask, "Is this mission relevant in 2016?"

Our organization believes that it is.

The Board of Directors of Jackson 2000 is pleased to announce that the honorees for this year’s Ball are: Dr. DAN JONES, Professor of Medicine and Physiology, Interim Chair, Department of Medicine at UMMC and Dr. HOLLIS WATKINS, a civil rights icon, organizer of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee in the sixties, county organizer for the 1964’s Freedom Summer and a founder of the Veterans of the Civil Rights Movement.

Revenue from this event will be used to support the work of our organization . . . specifically our Dialogue Circles.

Please join us for fun and fellowship as we celebrate 25+ years as an organization and honor worthy individuals in our community. This affair promises to be a fun-filled evening of renewing friendships and building new relationships as a means to improving diverse relations through open and honest discussion of all issues of public concern.
