Earlier this year members of our organization attended an intensive training session in New Orleans conducted by the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond (PISAB). PISAB is a national and international collective of anti-racist, multicultural community organizers and educators dedicated to building an effective movement for social transformation.

The People’s Institute is nationally recognized as one of the foremost anti-racism training and organizing institutions in the country. They believe that “Racism is the single most critical barrier to building effective coalitions for social change. Racism has been consciously and systematically erected, and it can be undone when only if people understand what it is, where it comes from, how it functions, and why it is perpetuated.”

Because we were so impressed with the quality of their training, we decided to bring this group and their workshop to Jackson in August, and to make it available to our members and to others in the community. We will only have 40 slots available. The training will begin on Thurs. evening, August 13, and will continue on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14-15th.

Please contact Dominic DeLeo for more information or if you are interested in registering for this amazing training. We will have registration info and pricing up on our site in the next 2 weeks.
